From Our Perspective – A Panel of Women With Autism – 1 SW CEU, 1 CRC CEU

April 14, 2023. A virtual panel comprised specifically of adult women with Autism. Their insight and personal experiences are extremely valuable. They will cover these topics: Differences between male and female expression of autism, Diagnosis – the importance of a clinician familiar with the female expression of autism and adults as relevant, Reasons many females go undiagnosed and/or misdiagnosed, masking, and much more. Employment Services with an Emphasis on Customized Employment On-Line Course 2023

April 18, 2023. The certificate curriculum is endorsed by Association for Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE). In order to promote best practices in the field of employment, ACRE encourages the use of competency-based training. The competencies on which this training is based are a melding of ACRE’s original Employment Services competencies with the Essential Elements of Customized Employment. The Essence of Personal Bias

April 20, 2023. The course will be a virtual, 2-hour live session. “The Essence of Personal Bias Training” will be presented by the National Diversity Council. The Public Health Code – General Rules have been revised by the Bureau of Professional Licensing (BPL) within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). It requires implicit bias training, effective June 1, 2022. Click here to learn more and register.

It will show them how to write applicant-centered job posts, avoid common practices that drive people away, and create a system to help reduce the number of people who fail to show up for scheduled interviews or training. The virtual workshop will include short presentations, individual and group exercises, and multiple breakout sessions where providers can share experiences and ideas. Helping Families See Possibilities in Competitive Employment – 1 SW CEU  

Scheduling for 2023. This training conducted by Menachem Hojda and April Mauro will be held again soon. Attendees will be empowered to work more effectively with families who have a loved one with a significant disability. Using an understanding of how disability can impact someone’s employment outlook, and how families can become ambivalent about their loved one engaging in competitive integrated independent employment, attendees will learn to use listening and empathy to better support the change process. Virtual Job Coach Training Series – On-the-Job Coaching

Scheduling for 2023. This 5-week (10-hour) virtual training series will address the skills necessary to be an effective job coach.  Although recommended, you do not need to register for all 5 sessions.
