The Essence of Personal Bias
May 23 and June 17, 2022. The course will be a virtual, 2-hour live session. “The Essence of Personal Bias Training” will be presented by the National Diversity Council. The Public Health Code – General Rules have been revised by the Bureau of Professional Licensing (BPL) within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). It will require implicit bias training, effective June 1, 2022.

Web Accessibility and ADA for Organizations
June 16, 2022. 2pm-3pm – Has your organization been keeping up with current website accessibility standards? The landscape on this subject is everchanging, and it can be hard to stay up to date. Register for this live virtual course with Ash Harris, CEO of AKEA Web Solutions, to learn more about the following: What web accessibility is, and why it is important, ADA and the legal landscape, and the accessibility compliance consulting process. June 20, 2022. This intensive and dynamic workshop gives participants “hands-on” practice, guided by the trainer, in developing plans and procedures necessary to demonstrate conformance to standards that have been identified as most challenging by the field. Presented by Pete Hathaway, Managing Director of the Employment and Community Services accreditation area, who has more than 25 years of experience in the rehabilitation field. June 27- 28, 2022. These are highly interactive in-person trainings. Presented by Dan Reed, there will be a basic training in late June. It is excellent for staff with little or no knowledge of the MI approach as well as those already implementing the model. This 2-day training will cover 5 training modules. August 1-2, 2022. The advanced training provides an in-depth review of the 5 training modules covered in the Basic Training and will occur during these two days of training via lecture, videos, numerous exercises, and real plays. Click here to learn more and register.

Starting June 29, 2022. HR 101 is designed for anyone that wants to strengthen their HR leadership skills. Virtual Job Coach Training Series – On the Job Coaching
Starting July 20, 2022. This 5-week (10 hour) virtual training series will address the skills necessary to be an effective job coach. Although recommended, you do not need to register for all 5 sessions. Click here to learn more and register
Helping Families See Possibilities in Competitive Employment
August 31, 2022. This training conducted by Menachem Hojda and April Mauro will be held again soon. Attendees will be empowered to work more effectively with families who have a loved one with a significant disability. Using an understanding of how disability can impact someone’s employment outlook, and how families can become ambivalent about their loved one engaging in competitive integrated independent employment, attendees will learn to use listening and empathy to better support the change process.
