Incompass Michigan’s professional leadership development programs targets employees who demonstrate leadership potential, a commitment to the future of our industry, and a strong drive to achieve greater levels of responsibility. Alumni of the Incompass Michigan leadership development programs have put their knowledge and network to work by becoming key contributors in their communities and places of business.

Through our 3-step leadership development programs, staff of Organizational Members are able to gain targeted training specific to our industry for their team.

In addition, we offer on-demand Leadership 101 courses for new to mid-career managers that want to strengthen their leadership skills.

The Leadership Academy is designed for individuals employed by Incompass Michigan Organizational Members who have the desire and ambition to advance in our industry. The Academy builds a rich cohort of participants diverse in geography, area of program responsibility, and career development – inclusive of individuals ready to make the leap to senior leadership now, and those in the earlier stages of their leadership journey.

On-demand trainings are available to staff of member and non-member organizations.

Connect with colleagues

A critical component of the Leadership Academy experience has been to build a network of professional relationships. Open to all Incompass Michigan Leadership Academy alumni who have successfully completed program requirements, the Alumni Network will provide:

  • A supportive system of sharing information, continued learning and professional development
  • An online Community of Practice to discuss hot topics, advice, feedback, collaboration and best practices

Emerging Leader Board Positions 

Incompass Michigan is committed to, and invested in, the development of future leaders with high potential to positively impact future industry growth and success.

The opportunity to serve as an Emerging Leader on the Incompass Michigan Board of Directors is a chance to gain board and leadership experience, increase your engagement with the Association, and be a voice for Emerging Leaders served by the Association.

Graduates of any Incompass Michigan Leadership Pathway program (Leadership Academy and/or The Leadership Continuum) are invited to apply.

Emerging Leaders serve a 2-year term, positions are non-voting.

Emerging Leader Directors will serve in pairs on the Board, terming off in alternate years and will be mentored during their first year. The Emerging Leader Board member selected will be expected to mentor an incoming Emerging Leader Board member in their second year of service.

The Nominating and Development Committee accepts Emerging Leader board applications and recommends nominations for board membership to the full board.
