Member Services

Incompass Michigan holds quarterly policy workgroup meetings on Behavioral Health and Vocational Rehabilitation, as well as bi-weekly All Member calls. Incompass Michigan’s  online Communities of Practice provide additional opportunities for members to discuss hot topics, advice, feedback, collaboration and best practices in several focus areas.

Through the distinguished, Lansing-based lobbying firm of MHSA, the Association works with the legislative and executive branches of state government. Incompass Michigan advocates for legislation and policies that increase opportunities for optimal independence and inclusion for all. Incompass Michigan meets frequently with officials from the Department of  Health and Human Services to promote the services provided by its members. Incompass Michigan also provides training and resources for members to develop their grass roots lobbying skills.

Incompass Michigan provides a variety of education and training sessions addressing current trends and practices in the field of rehabilitation. Recent topics have included Job Development & Coaching, Benefits Planning and Coordination, Micro-Enterprise Development, CARF Standards, and Wage & Hour Compliance. The Association holds an annual Spring Leadership Conference and is the co-sponsor and manager of re:con – the convention of new beginnings.

The Incompass Michigan Update provides members with critical information on issues affecting their organizations – including legislation and policies, grants, seminars, meetings, employment opportunities and more. The Update is sent via e-mail to Incompass Michigan members on a weekly basis.

Incompass Michigan administers a self-funded, group Workers’ Compensation Fund. In operation since 1988, it has saved members millions of dollars in premium costs for worker comp coverage.

Incompass Michigan staff provide safety trainings for organizations working with individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. Topics include: Bloodborne Pathogens, Ergonomics, Job Safety Analysis, Safety Committee Activities, Right to Know as well as others. This service is free to Incompass Michigan members.

Technical Assistance is usually only a phone call away. Incompass Michigan staff have a wealth of professional experience in the areas of direct service provision, public policy formulation, program administration, occupational health and safety and legislative advocacy.

Incompass Michigan Associate Membership is open to organizations and individuals who do not provide direct services and who wish to support the work of the Association, and whose objectives are consistent with the Association’s. Associate Members are non-voting categories of membership.

Become a VR Member

Incompass Michigan Associate Membership for VR Employees is open to individuals who are currently employed by Michigan Rehabilitation Services or Michigan Bureau of Services for Blind Persons. Associate Members are non-voting categories of membership. Click here to learn more about VR Membership.
