March 10 @ 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Competitive Integrated Employment Capacity Building Webinar Series
DESCRIPTION
When fading is done well, people gain independence, employers gain confidence, and job coaching becomes more strategic and sustainable. This 60-minute webinar will help managers and DSPs refresh and strengthen their approach to fading job coach supports by reinforcing the core purpose of the job coach role and how to clearly communicate that role to employers, individuals, and guardians to prevent assumptions coaching will always be, and always need to be, present most of the time. Participants will revisit key strategies in Systematic Instruction that promote independence and support effective fading, explore ways enabling technology can reduce reliance on paid staff, and review practical tools and resources that help staff plan, implement, and document fading. This session will equip Supported Employment teams with actionable strategies to promote independence, align expectations, and ensure high-quality Supported Employment.
