SUMMARY:Leadership Foundation
DESCRIPTION:OVERVIEW \n\n\n\nThe Leadership Foundation provides a critical set of skills for those just entering their leadership journeys. While not required\, it is a recommended pre-requisite to the Leadership Academy for those with less hands-on leadership experience and a high desire to grow. \n\n\n\nTrainings will be held in-person\, at our office in Lansing. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTUITION \n\n\n\n$600\, members \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE\n\n\n\n\nRegistration deadline September 5\, 2024. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDETAILS \n\n\n\nThe Leadership Foundation two-day\, in-person training includes the following topics: \n\n\n\n\nExercises in communication\n\n\n\nRelationship-building activities between participants\n\n\n\nDefining leadership\n\n\n\nBuilding your brand as a leader\n\n\n\nUnderstanding personal style for effective results\n\n\n\nDeveloping your personal mission statement\n\n\n\nBuilding a resource network\, including within the Association\n\n\n\nUnderstanding your “why” in life and in leadership\n\n\n\nConducting meetings\n\n\n\nAn introduction to facilitation in a variety of circumstances\n\n\n\nOwning your actions\n\n\n\nAn introduction to Emotional Intelligence\n\n\n\nPersonal leadership goal-setting\n\n\n\nSetting actionable goals for the future\n\n\n\n\nRegistration is $600 and includes lunch on both days. \n\n\n\nThis is an in-person event held at the Incompass Michigan office in Lansing. Seats are limited and available on first come basis\, you are encouraged to register early. \n\n\n\nRegistrants will be sent details for discounted hotel rooms. \n\n\n\nYou will be emailed event information 1 week prior to the event. SUMMARY:Implicit Bias – 1 SW Ethics CEU Approved
DESCRIPTION:Many clients with disabilities and from other diverse populations are impacted by implicit bias in the workplace\, community\, and within our own service settings. This 1-hour virtual training will assist professionals in overcoming ethical obstacles involving implicit bias by increasing multi-cultural competencies and providing best practices.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDESCRIPTION \n\n\n\nWe have an ethical obligation to reduce our implicit bias\, so as not to serve as an additional barrier to clients accessing and obtaining equitable healthcare\, employment\, and other services or even putting your professional relationship at risk. This interactive presentation will demonstrate how to overcome this obstacle including\, but not limited to: differentiating explicit versus implicit bias\, various examples of implicit bias with historical context\, identifying ethical risks and implications for professionals\, tangible methods to identify and address our own implicit bias to reduce disparities in healthcare service delivery and access\, etc. We will end with a facilitated discussion because hearing from other professionals within the field is the best way to find new ideas and resources for assisting our clients! \n\n\n\nLARA and CEUs \n\n\n\n\nLARA – The Public Health Code General Rules have been revised by the Bureau of Professional Licensing (BPL) within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). It requires implicit bias training\, effective June 1\, 2022\, on-demand approved March 28\, 2023. DE is a non-profit member association built by employers\, for employers. She works closely with DE’s 1k+ Member companies to implement better DEIAB strategies and connect them with Vocational Rehabilitation services\, American Job Centers\, Employment Networks\, Community Rehabilitation Programs\, and other DE Partners for improved recruitment and retention of individuals with disabilities.
